Ohio House Democrats to Host Inaugural Gun Violence Prevention Summit

January 8, 2024
Lauren McNally News

COLUMBUS – House Democrats today announce the inaugural Gun Violence Prevention Summit aimed at fostering discussions on crucial commonsense policies supported by a bipartisan majority of Ohioans.

“It’s important to me that people in my district know about what’s happening at the Statehouse, including opportunities to learn about important issues. Too often these laws are made in a vacuum or, like with the August special election, politicians aren’t listening to them,” said Rep. McNally. “House Democrats are engaging a host of different people impacted by gun violence like kids, moms, dads, and the police.  This broad coalition is coming together because we know that there are solutions that can work for everyone, and those ideas are worth fighting for. This summit is a chance for people to make their voices heard and be a part of those solutions, one’s we know that the majority of Ohioans support and can have a positive impact on our state.”

The summit will take place February 15, 2024, at the Ohio Statehouse from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and consist of three panels featuring elected officials, law enforcement officers and public safety and health stakeholders to address solutions, legislation and real-world stories that put us closer to stemming the tide of gun violence in Ohio.
