Gross Supports Indexing the Homestead Exemption to Inflation Act

COLUMBUS – The Ohio House of Representatives yesterday passed House Bill 57, the Indexing the Homestead Exemption to Inflation Act, announced State Rep. Jennifer Gross (R-West Chester). Gross signed on as a co-sponsor to the significant legislation.

The bill will index the homestead exemption to inflation in order to help vulnerable Ohioans, such as seniors and disabled veterans, maintain financial stability.  This ultimately supports those who are living on fixed incomes by creating a more predicable tax environment.

“At a time when Butler County is facing a 43% valuation, we need to help our senior population and our disabled veterans who have sacrificed greatly for our state and nation stay in their homes,” said Gross.

The Indexing the Homestead Exemption to Inflation Act now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
