Earlier this summer, the Ohio House of Representatives took action against the impending closure of the Chillicothe Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio by passing House Concurrent Resolution 46, of which State Representative Jennifer Gross (R-West Chester) was a cosponsor.

In a response soon after, a bipartisan group of U.S. Senators, including a majority of the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee, issued a joint statement announcing their opposition to the Asset and Infrastructure Review (AIR) Commission process from moving forward.

Gross reacted to this statement with the following remarks:

“I am pleased to report as a member of the Armed Services and Veterans Affairs Committee and a cosponsor of HCR 46 that our voices were heard by the United States Senate. Thanks to those U.S. Senators, Chillicothe VA Medical Center will remain open to serve our veterans, thus protecting and strengthening the overall VA infrastructure.”
