Ohio House Passes Transportation Budget

 

COLUMBUS – Representative Jamie Callender (R – Concord) voted to pass the State’s biennium transportation budget following a month of hearings and deliberations. The State’s transportation budget allocates funds for the Department of Transportation’s infrastructure maintenance and improvement plans over the next two years as well as makes other permanent law changes. This $12.6 billion budget is the largest highway infrastructure investment in Ohio’s history.

Callender, Sweeney Introduce House Bill 10 to Continue, Fully Implement the Bipartisan Fair School Funding Plan

COLUMBUS – State Representatives Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) introduced House Bill 10 Wednesday, bipartisan priority legislation to support the continued funding and full implementation of the Fair School Funding Plan.

Callender Chairs First JCARR Committee of the 135th General Assembly

COLUMBUS – State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord) chaired his first Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review Monday. Callender is serving his fifth term as the chair of JCARR, making him the most tenured member of the House to serve as Chair of the joint committee since it was created by the General Assembly in 1977. Callender joins former Senator Gary Suhadolnik, who served between 1981 and 1999, as five time chair of JCARR.

Callender Announces Passage of Permissive Use Tax Language

COLUMBUS- State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord) announces the passage of Senate Bill 164, which includes permissive use tax language to allow the Cuyahoga Arts and Culture District to renew or replace its cigarette tax. This language was added by floor amendment from Callender during the final session of the 134th General Assembly.
