House Homeland Security Committee Passes House Bill 232

COLUMBUS – The Ohio House Homeland Security Committee this week passed House Bill 232, announced State Reps. Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta). This legislation will create a Historic and Patriotic Education license plate to support the educational and conservation work conducted by the Ohio Society, Sons of the American Revolution.

Representatives Callender and Sweeney Provide Sponsor Testimony on Bill to Expand Medigap Coverage

COLUMBUS–The House Insurance Committee yesterday held sponsor testimony on House Bill 400, announced bill sponsors, State Representatives Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake). House Bill 400 aims to extend Medigap coverage to patients in Ohio diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). While ESRD and ALS patients are federally eligible to receive Medicare Part B Coverage, Ohio does not allow them to purchase Medigap coverage.

House Transportation Committee Passes Bill to Declare Lance Corporal Austin B. Schwenk Memorial Highway

COLUMBUS – The House Transportation Committee yesterday unanimously passed House Bill 350, which will dedicate a portion of State Route 44 between Mentor Avenue and Prouty Road as Lance Corporal Austin B. Schwenk Memorial Highway, announced State Representatives Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Daniel Troy (D-Wickliffe).

Callender, Fowler Arthur Provide Testimony on Legislation to Enact the Airspace Protection Act

COLUMBUS- The House Aviation and Aerospace Committee today began hearings on House Bill 185, legislation that will reform Ohio’s classification and regulation framework around airports, heliports, vertiports, and spaceports. The bill is sponsored by State Representatives Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Sarah Fowler Arthur (R-Ashtabula).

Callender Participates in Great Lakes Commission Semi-Annual Meeting

COLUMBUS– State Rep. Jamie Callender (R-Concord) recently participated in the Great Lakes Commission’s semi-annual meeting held in Washington, D.C., which focused on expanding cooperative efforts between the member states and provinces of the Great Lakes Commission. One of these efforts being a historic compact between the Great Lakes Commission, the Great Lakes Fishery Commission, and the International Joint Commission.

Callender, Sweeney Introduce Legislation to Expand Medigap Coverage to Terminal Patients

COLUMBUS—State Representatives Jamie Callender (R-Concord) and Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake) recently introduced legislation to address a critical shortcoming in Ohio’s Medigap insurance market for patients suffering from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or end stage renal disease (ESRD). HB 400 aims to expand access to Medigap plans to all patients, regardless of age, who have been diagnosed with either ALS or ESRD and are eligible for Medicare Part B coverage

Rabbit Run Community Arts Association Awarded Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant

COLUMBUS—Rabbit Run Community Arts Association (RRCAA) will be among the recipients of the third round of Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant, announced State Rep. Jamie Callender (R-Concord). Passed as part of HB 45 (134th General Assembly), this grant program is funded through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars.
