Columbus, Ohio – the Ohio House of Representative passed HB33, the state operating budget, this afternoon, announced State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord). The vote on HB 33 comes after 4 months of hearings, amendments, and input from constituents regarding how the state should spend its money over the next two fiscal years. Among the major proposals in the House Budget are a $1 billion dollar tax cut, the largest increase in state support for K-12 education in Ohio’s history, and continued investment in career technical training. 

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio House Finance Committee adopted an omnibus amendment package for HB33, the state operating budget, this afternoon and favorably reported HB33 for a vote from the full House, announced State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord). This omnibus amendment package comes after an additional week of hearings following the adoption of substitute HB33 on April 18, 2023.

This adoption comes after three months of hearings, both by the full finance committee and sub committees focused on individual sections of the 4311 page bill. While no earmarks or district projects where included in the substitute bill, several projects impacting Lake County and North East Ohio where included in the legislation.
