Rep. Jamie Callender Highlights New OneOhio Grant Funding to Combat Addiction and Strengthen Recovery Programs

COLUMBUS – The OneOhio Recovery Foundation has launched a new statewide round of opioid settlement grant funding, awarding up to $45.7 million to support prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts across Ohio, announced State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord). Regional Grant Cycle 2 invites organizations working to address substance use disorders to prepare for the Funding Inquiry window, which opened January 14, 2026.
This round advances the momentum of the first grant cycle which distributed more than $45 million to over 240 locally driven projects across 19 regions designated by the OneOhio Foundation. Those grants supported youth prevention, school-based mental health programs, recovery housing, treatment expansion, post-overdose outreach, and workforce initiatives in the behavioral health field.
During the first grant cycle, Region 13, which includes Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, and Portage Counties, received $2,257,352.64 in funding across 12 projects. Region 13 will receive $2,157,104 to disperse for the second grant cycle, with the application window open between January 14th to February 11th.
“The wounds caused by the opioid epidemic remain visible across numerous communities in Northeast Ohio,” said Callender. “While we cannot bring back those lost to the epidemic, we can assist those currently suffering through addiction get their lives back on track and prevent future losses to addiction.”
The OneOhio Recovery Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable organization created at the direction of Ohio’s state and local leaders to distribute 55 percent of the funds our state will receive from the pharmaceutical industry as part of the agreed-upon Distributor settlement reached as a consequence of the national opioid epidemic. The Foundation works with local stakeholders to support their substance misuse prevention, treatment and recovery efforts and invest funds to support these efforts for Ohioans into the future.
