During his first meeting as a member of the Ohio State Controlling Board, State Rep. Jamie Callender (R-Concord) approved local funding to help the 61st Ohio House District during the coronavirus pandemic.

“As a result of this crisis, our medical professionals and health systems are under immense pressure,” said Callender. “This action provides direct financial support to the Lake County General Health District and will enhance their efforts to combat COVID-19 and support those patients who need help the most.”

On March 25, the Ohio State Controlling Board approved the flow of federal relief funds that will be allocated to health districts throughout Ohio. The Lake County Health District is set to receive a total of $199,360. This federal relief derives from the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act that President Trump signed on March 8.

In total, the Controlling Board approved $15,620,977 in federal funding to be awarded across the state as a result of the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act.
