Ohio Governor Signs Bill to Designate EMS Week

COLUMBUS—State Representative Jim Hoops (R-Napoleon) is pleased to announce that Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 311, legislation to designate the third week in May as EMS Week in Ohio.
This bill, sponsored by Hoops and State Representative Erika White (D-Springfield Township), will highlight the diverse roles within emergency medical services (EMS), such as paramedics, EMTs, supervisors, and dispatchers. It will also recognize these individuals for their vital work to serve Ohioans during emergencies and support routine healthcare needs.
“Across the State of Ohio, EMS providers put their lives on the line to provide lifesaving care to others,” said Hoop, “In recognition of their brave contribution to Ohio’s safety and well-being, dedicating the third week in May is the least we can do to honor them. This bill reaffirms the critical role emergency personnel play in safeguarding our communities.”
