State Representative Heidi Workman (R-Rootstown) was recently appointed to serve on the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Task Force on AI, Cybersecurity, and Privacy by Speaker Matt Huffman (R-Lima).

The task force brings together a bipartisan group of legislators from across the country to address some of the most pressing issues facing states today — the rise of artificial intelligence, the protection of personal data, and the need for stronger cybersecurity standards.

“I am honored to represent Ohio on this important task force,” said Rep. Workman. “Emerging technologies bring tremendous opportunities, but they also raise real concerns about privacy, data security, and the protection of our citizens. I look forward to working with colleagues from across the nation to develop smart, responsible policies that keep Ohioans safe while encouraging innovation.”

The NCSL Task Force on AI, Cybersecurity, and Privacy will study the impacts of rapidly advancing technologies, share best practices among the states, and help shape policies that balance economic growth with individual rights.

Rep. Workman’s appointment reflects Ohio’s growing leadership in technology policy and its commitment to ensuring residents are safeguarded against invasive data practices while benefiting from innovation.
