COLUMBUS — State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announced Thursday that more than $3.88 million has been awarded to projects in Portage County, including the construction of a new barrack at Camp James A. Garfield, renovations at the Kent State University Kent campus, and new multi-use trails. The State Controlling Board approved the measures at a meeting earlier this week.

“These funds will not only build new housing for our servicemen and women, enhance security, and improve the learning environment for students at Kent State, but also help facilitate economic growth and invest in our parks here in Portage County,” said Pavliga.

COLUMBUS, OH – State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) issued the following statement regarding the Ohio House of Representatives vote to override the veto of Governor Mike DeWine of House Bill 68, a combination of the Save Adolescents from Experimentation Act (SAFE) and the Save Women’s Sports Act:

“Today, I voted to empower parents, protect children, and maintain the integrity of women’s sports in Ohio,” said Pavliga.  “By voting with my colleagues in the House to override the Governor’s veto of House Bill 68, we are sending a clear message that these are fundamental priorities for us, and hope that the Senate will join us in doing so.”
