Rep. White Announces $1.7M for Dani's Place Crisis Step-Down Facility in South Toledo

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Erika White (D-Springfield Township) today announced that the State Controlling Board approved $1.7M in capital funds aimed at new construction for Dani’s Place, a crisis facility in South Toledo. The project will support the new construction on the grounds adjunct to the Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Psychiatric Hospital.

“Access to mental health services is essential for fostering a thriving and resilient community. I am thrilled to announce that a significant allocation of funds is being directed back to my District. These resources will be invested in a vital facility that offers critical support, including counseling, crisis intervention, and community outreach initiatives,” said Rep. White. “Dani’s Place is designed to address the pressing mental health needs of all Lucas County and Northwest Ohio residents, ensuring that everyone can find help and improve their well-being.”

Dani’s Place provides transitional residential mental health services, creating essential stepping stones for those suffering from mental illness. When patients are released from the hospital, they often don’t have the proper support in place to care for themselves, like affordable housing, that allows them to fully recover. Dani’s place will aid in this recovery, ensuring a full health moment for all individuals to thrive.
