COLUMBUS— Today the Ohio State Controlling Board approved $700,000 in funding for road sign replacements in Belmont County and $236,544 for renovation projects at the main campus of Belmont Technical College.

The news is welcomed by State Representative Don Jones (R-Freeport), who advocated for these funds during negotiations over the state transportation budget, House Bill 74, and the capital budget, House Bill 597.

“While both projects are quite different, they will both make necessary improvements in Belmont County that will benefit thousands of people,” Jones said.

The road sign replacements will take place across various locations on Interstate Routes 70 and 470 and State Route 7

Belmont Technical College will use their funding to build their Live Burn Building which will provide students with a safe and advanced facility to receive live fire training. They will also be making necessary safety renovations across campus.
