State Representative David Thomas (R-Jefferson) today announced that Ohio’s tourism industry welcomed over 240 million visitors in 2024, supporting thousands of local businesses and attractions across the state, generating over $57 billion in revenue, according to the Ohio Department of Development.

“I am extremely proud of what the 65th district has to offer to our in-state and out-of-state visitors,” said Thomas, “We continue to see more and more visitors bringing increased opportunities for residents to capitalize on this and show off the best of what our region has to offer.”

From national parks and historical monuments to beloved local restaurants, wineries, museums, and more, Ohio offers an incredible variety of destinations for visitors from near and far.

Representative David Thomas is proud to highlight a few notable tourism destinations and community favorites in their district:

Ohio Wine Country – with over 30 wineries in the region and many of them being in the 65th district. These wineries feature some of Ohio’s best wines and create a beautiful blend of flavors for travelers looking for their next adventure.

Pymatuning State Park – this State Park is a gem for the 65th district and provides many opportunities to fish, see wildlife and enjoy time out on the water. There are also over 60 cozy cottages nestled along the lake in the 65th district that provide a beautiful spot to stay so close to the water.

Mosquito Lake State Park – being the second largest inland lake in Ohio this state park provides many serene spots to explore its water and the 65th District. With many camping sites, competitive fishing and very little limits on recreational boating this lake despite its name is quite an attraction for many visitors.

Greenway Trail – this paved trail stretches over 40 miles from Lake Erie south. This trail is mostly covered with shade and is a beautiful spot to walk, bike and meet up with friends.
