Rep. Cockley Calls on Governor DeWine to Bring Ohio's National Guard Home, Invest in Ohio

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Christine Cockley (D-Columbus) today released to following statement concerning Governor Mike DeWine’s decision to send 150 National Guard members to support the District of Columbia National Guard: 

“What’s happening in Washington is unsettling to watch from Ohio. Our nation’s capital should not look like a military zone. Deploying federal troops into city streets does not make people safer, it only heightens fear for residents. Meanwhile, families here in Ohio are asking for relief from rising costs of groceries, housing, and energy. This is not about protecting people, it is about distracting from failed leadership,” said Rep. Cockley.
