State Rep. Beth Liston (D-Dublin) issued a statement following Friday’s meeting of the Joint Committee on Congressional Redistricting. The committee is required to hold two public hearings on proposed congressional maps before the legislature can pass a map.
“People have been very clear - they want fair districts that aren’t gerrymandered. We must listen to them. Democrats have submitted maps that keep communities together and represent the interests of people, not politicians. Republicans need to come to the table and work with us to do the same,” said Rep. Liston.
