Rep. Lear Highlights Mount Vernon High School Wrestling State Champions

State Representative Beth Lear (R-Galena) is pleased to highlight two outstanding athletes from Mount Vernon High School on securing State Champion titles in March. 

Ashlynn Brokaw and Alex Taylor represented the Mount Vernon community well. Brokaw secured the Girls State Championship title in the 105lb weight class, and Taylor won the Boys State Championship title for the heavy weight class.

"I am proud of the incredible achievements of the Mount Vernon wrestling team, especially standout athletes, Ashlynn Brokaw and Alex Taylor,” said Representative Lear. “Their hard work, discipline, and sportsmanship embody the very best of our community. Ashlynn and Alex have not only brought honor to Mount Vernon, but they've also inspired countless young athletes across our state. Congratulations to the entire team – you're an inspiration!"
