COLUMBUS– State Rep. Richard D. Brown (D-Canal Winchester) this week announced the Ohio House passage of House Bill (HB) 597, which reappropriates over $2 billion in capital funds for the FY 2023-24 biennium.

HB 597 includes provisions to reappropriate $1.9 million to several projects in House District 20, including for the Rickenbacker Area Mobility Center, Lockbourne Magnolia Trail, the Central Ohio Job Skills and Workforce Development Center, and the Whitehall Community Park.

“I’m proud to vote in support of these projects in our community,” Rep. Brown. “Improving access to public transportation will help our neighbors get to work, school, food services, child care, health care, job training, and more. And by ensuring our parks are taken care of, House District 20 will remain the best place to live and raise a family in Ohio. With the Central Ohio Job Skills and Workforce Development Center, located in Whitehall, hardworking Ohioans will be connected with the resources they need to get ahead and pursue careers in construction, automotive, and technological industries. Each of these projects are going to expand opportunity for hardworking individuals and families in Franklin County.”

HB 597 was passed unanimously in the House and now heads to the Senate for further consideration.
