Ohio judge rules 6-week abortion ban unconstitutional

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Richard Brown (D-Canal Winchester) issued the following statement today after Judge Christian Jenkins, Common Pleas Judge in Hamilton County, ruled Senate Bill (SB) 23, the 6-week abortion ban, unconstitutional.

“Today is a monumental step forward in the fight to protect Ohioans’ privacy rights and access to safe, reproductive healthcare,” said Rep. Brown. “Extremist Republicans have been leading the charge to criminalize abortion, punish women, and throw doctors in jail, and it is not what Ohioans want. The fight doesn’t stop here; I will continue to fight every day for the rights that Ohioans deserve.”
