State Representative Scott Lipps (R-Franklin) today applauded the passage of House Bill 196, legislation that recognizes the importance of chiropractors and the health benefits associated with this profession.

The bill designates October as “Ohio Chiropractic Awareness Month” and highlights the specialized services provided by chiropractors, which can greatly reduce pain through non-addictive methods.  Chiropractors have the ability to naturally treat various conditions such as headaches, joint, back and neck pain, as well as facilitate spinal manipulation and chiropractic adjustment.

“As a long-time chiropractic patient, I am excited to help share the positive story of chiropractic healthcare,” Rep. Lipps said. “It is essential that we invite chiropractors to the table as we all work together to solve Ohio’s drug crisis.”

The Ohio State Chiropractic Association estimates that more than 1.4 million patients seek chiropractic care in Ohio each year. House Bill 196 brings attention to this healthcare option and the alternative services it provides for healing acute pain without surgery and the need for highly addictive medication.

House Bill 196 will now go to the Senate for further consideration.
