Stein Highlights Community Projects coming to 57th House District

COLUMBUS – State Representative Dick Stein (R-Norwalk) was pleased to vote for House Bill 687, Ohio’s 3.5 billion-construction budget. 

“The capital bill provides valuable investments that make Ohio a better place to live,” said Stein. “I’m pleased to support these local construction projects that will improve our aging infrastructure, advance educational opportunities, and bring economic development to our region.”

Of the $3.5 billion allocated, $100 million has been included to improve school safety to help both public and private schools address local building security needs. 

Specifically, in the 57th district, in Huron County the following projects have been allocated funding: 

  • Veterans Memorial Lake Park
    • $300,000 granted to create a new amphitheater 
  • Feichtner Family Memorial Barn 
    • $450,000 granted to construct a new 200ft by 100ft barn at the Huron County Fairgrounds 
  • Firelands Historical Society Expansion
    • $100,000 granted to expand the existing facilities 
  • New London Hileman Community Building Project
    • $250,000 granted to remodel the building and add additional seating 
  • Greenwich Reservoir Park
    • $50,000 granted to construct a new bathroom at the park

“I am glad to know that these worthy projects will be receiving state funding,” added Stein.
