Extreme Legislation Bans Health Care, Medical Decisions With Veto Override & Executive Order

January 11, 2024
Casey Weinstein News

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today denounces the passage of the veto override for House Bill (HB) 68, anti-trans legislation, and DeWine’s proposed care restrictions on gender affirming care.

“With the GOP using their gerrymandered supermajority to overturn Governor DeWine’s veto and strip fundamental rights from our LGBTQ+ community, I want to extend my solidarity and continued support to everyone being impacted by this harmful decision.” said Rep. Weinstein. “As state Representative, I will continue to fight alongside you to ensure that you are welcomed here in Ohio.”

HB 68 was passed in both the Ohio House and Senate, but vetoed by Governor DeWine at the end of December 2023.

Governor DeWine issued an executive order on January 5, 2024 that further limits access to care.
