Cutrona Co-Sponsored House Bill 377, Legislation to Provide Over $10,000,000 to the Mahoning Valley

COLUMBUS – State Representative Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) co-sponsored House Bill 377 which passed which appropriates additional funding to the Office of Budget and Management to disburse to local governments. Mahoning County will be receiving $10,007,011.77 once the legislation clears the Ohio Senate and is signed by the Governor.

Mahoning County will be receiving $10,007,011.77 once the legislation clears the Ohio Senate and is signed by the Governor. 

Townships and municipalities were excluded from the most recent congressional estimates for recovery funding but were included in previous versions. 

“Communities throughout our state were negatively impacted by the economic consequences of the pandemic, House Bill 377 is important legislation that helps provide necessary relief to townships and municipalities across Ohio,” said Cutrona. 

In the 59th district, allocations are estimated below:

  • City of Canfield - $ 377,347.26
  • City of Struthers - $ 531,683.13
  • Village of Beloit - $ 48,588.19
  • Village of Craig Beach - $ 58,368.93
  • Village of Lowellville - $ 57,422.41
  • Village of New Middletown - $ 81,506.17
  • Village of Poland - $ 125,046.24
  • Village of Sebring - $ 220,119.24
  • Austintown Township - $ 1,834,099.11
  • Beaver Township - $ 336,068.33
  • Berlin Township - $ 108,166.58
  • Boardman Township - $ 2,042,281.63
  • Canfield Township - $ 432,298.20
  • Coitsville Township - $ 69,201.37
  • Ellsworth Township - $ 111,006.15
  • Goshen Township - $ 162,539.07
  • Green Township - $ 158,805.57
  • Jackson Township - $ 105,695.10

The purpose of House Bill 377 is to match the stated intent of Congress, providing recovery dollars to all local governments.

The Legislation will now head to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
