Delaware County Republican Brian Lorenz (R-Powell) has been appointed to fill the unexpired term for the 60th House District seat after the untimely passing of State Representative Kris Jordan.

State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announces local funding for organizations in Kent and Aurora for the arts. The funds are through the Ohio Arts Economic Relief Grant Program.

Scioto County Republican Justin Pizzulli has been sworn in to fill the unexpired term for the 90th House District seat, which was previously held by Brian Baldridge (R-Winchester). 

On Wednesday, State Rep. Jena Powell’s (R-Arcanum) “Save Women’s Sports Act” legislation passed in the House Higher Education Committee. The bill ensures that biological males cannot compete in female-only sports in Ohio.

State Reps. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) and Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) have introduced legislation modernizing the statutes authorizing the Cosmetology and Barber Board. The bill updates the statutes to harmonize the regulations and processes of the board and better serve licensees.

State Rep. Monica Robb Blasdel (R-Columbiana County) has introduced a bill aimed at protecting healthcare workers and patients from harmful surgical smoke exposure. Robb Blasdel spoke to the bill during its first committee hearing today.

COLUMBUS – The Ohio House Speaker Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) yesterday appointed State Rep. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.) to the Statewide Emergency Services Internet Protocol Network Steering Committee.

State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) presented a resolution on Monday to the Ashland Women’s Basketball team on the House floor of the Statehouse in Columbus. The representative invited the team to recognize their NCAA Division II national championship win earlier this year.

COLUMBUS –The Ohio Controlling Board today released funds for the First Responders Safety and Training Center located in Shelby, Ohio, announced State Rep. Marilyn John (R-Richland County).

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio House Finance Committee adopted substitute House Bill 33 this morning, announced Representative Callender (R-Concord). This adoption comes after three months of hearings, both by the full finance committee and sub committees focused on individual sections of the 4311 page bill. While no earmarks or district projects where included in the substitute bill, several projects impacting Lake County and North East Ohio where included in the legislation.
