COLUMBUS—House Bill 61, which will designate November 19th as “James A. Garfield Day” in Ohio, yesterday passed the Ohio Senate 31-0. Bill sponsors, State Reps. Callender (R-Concord) and Troy (D-Willowick), were pleased to see unanimous passage in both the Ohio House and Senate.

COLUMBUS—State Rep. Justin Pizzulli (R-Scioto County) recently introduced House Bill 272, legislation that will give local governments the authority to expand concealed carry access. Pizzulli is sponsoring this bill alongside State Rep. Adam Mathews (R-Lebanon).

COLUMBUS –House Bill 253, which will designate the Brigadier General Charles Young Memorial Historical Corridor, today passed out of the House Transportation Committee with unanimous support, announced bill sponsor, State Rep. Adam Holmes (R-Nashport).

COLUMBUS – With the deadline for all state agencies to submit their rule reduction reports having passed, all but four agencies have or are on track to hit their target of a 10% reduction in regulatory restrictions, announced Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR) Chair, State Rep. AKRON –The Greater Akron Baseball Hall of Fame (GABHoF) awarded State Rep. Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) the Glenn “Speed” Award for his contributions to baseball in the Akron area for nearly 30 years. 

COLUMBUS—The Center for Legislative Accountability recently awarded State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord) the Award for Conservative Excellence based on his conservative voting record.

Asst. Majority Whip Sharon Ray (R-Wadsworth), State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland), and State Senator Mark Romanchuk (R-Ontario) today held a press conference on newly introduced legislation that came as a result of constituent concerns about a highway interchange in Medina County. The Representatives and Senator were accompanied by leaders and residents of the City of Brunswick and the surrounding communities.

COLUMBUS – Lake County School Districts continue to show improvement in the 2022-2023 school year state report card, announced State Representative Jamie Callender (R-Concord). This includes the Kirtland and Perry School Districts achieving a 5-star rating, the highest overall rating that can be achieved by a district, which places them in the top 12% of schools in Ohio. 

COLUMBUS– State Representative Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) introduced legislation requiring candidates running for state and local boards of education to declare a political affiliation.
