Rep. West votes to deliver $12,985,924.80 in American Rescue Plan funds to Stark County

COLUMBUS – State Rep. West (D-Canton) today voted in favor of House Bill (HB) 377, bipartisan legislation to release the second, $442 million batch of local government funding from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan to Ohio’s cities, villages and townships serving 50,000 people or less. Communities of more than 50,000 people receive their allocation directly from the federal government. 

HB 377 brings the total distribution to local governments to $844 million. The distribution amounts are in accordance with a population-based formula from the American Rescue Plan Act and guidance issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

“As a member of the House Finance Committee, I am proud to have played a key role in the passage of this crucial piece of legislation,” said Rep. West. “The allocation of these funds demonstrate a win for not only Stark County, but for all of Ohio.” 

The local governments in Stark County will receive the following funds:

·         Canal Fulton – $284,377.64

·         Louisville – $ 492,192.07

·         North Canton – $903,193.50

·         Village of Beach City – $51,585.51

·         Village of Brewster – $113,214.69

·         Village of Waynesburg – $47,746.84

·         Village of Wilmot – $15,985.82

·         Bethlehem Township – $185,255.63

·         Canton Township – $657,150.04

·         Jackson Township – $2,106,434.87

·         Lake Township  – $1,415,148.20

·         Lawrence Township – $435,453.27

·         Lexington Township – $275,175.33

·         Marlboro Township – $228,532.77

·         Nimishillen Township  – $498,239.31

·         Washington Township – $241,153.09
·         Village of East Canton – $28,873.36

·         Village of East Sparta – $42,015.12

·         Village of Hartville – $161,908.05

·         Village of Hills and Dales – $11,621.20

·         Village of Magnolia – $50,586.41

·         Village of Meyers Lake – $29,710.31

·         Village of Minerva – $190,356.33

House Bill 377 now heads to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
