Patton Encourages Local Businesses to Apply for Restaurant Revitalization Fund

April 29, 2021
Thomas F. Patton News

State Rep. Tom Patton (R-Strongsville) encourages local businesses throughout the 7th District to register and apply for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The $28.6 billion nationwide grant fund is for restaurants, bars, caterers and other food businesses that have lost revenue due to the pandemic.

“This pandemic has caused irrefutable damage to our restaurant industry,” said Patton. “While I’m optimistic we’re slowly getting back to normal, I highly encourage our local business owners to take a look into this grant fund as I do believe it can help provide some assistance to them.”

According to congressional estimates, eligible businesses have lost hundreds of billions of dollars due to shutdowns and health orders enacted as a reaction to COVID-19.

The Restaurant Revitalization Fund was created within the American Rescue Plan, which was signed into law last month by Congress. The fund will offer assistance of up to $10 million per business. The Small Business Administration (SBA) is beginning registration for the fund Friday, April 30, and will officially open applications on Monday, May 3.
