COLUMBUS—State Representative Tom Brinkman (R-Mt. Lookout) today announced that the Ohio House passed House Bill 28, the budget for the Ohio Industrial Commission (IC) for fiscal years 2018 and 2019.
House Bill 28 appropriates $51.4 million in fiscal year 2018 and $52.2 million in fiscal year 2019 for the operation of IC programs. The Industrial Commission is a forum for appealing decisions made by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, conducting nearly 130,000 hearings on disputed claims each year.
“I am pleased that this Industrial Commission budget is 1.3 percent less than its previous adjusted biennial budget,” said Rep. Brinkman.
The legislation now goes to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.
