COLUMBUS – State Rep. Tavia Galonski (D-Akron) released the following statement following the conviction of former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder:

“Yesterday, justice was finally served in the largest public corruption scandal in the history of our state. As elected officials, we have a duty to our constituents to create meaningful changes that improve the lives of Ohioans. At no point should any public servant participate in pay-to-play schemes that subvert the will of the people and undermine our democratic process,” said Rep. Galonski. “Our justice system prevailed, but now we must work to rebuild Ohioans’ trust in the government and ensure that elected officials are always held accountable.”

Ohio House Democrats plan to reintroduce the Ohio Anti-Corruption Act which would require dark money groups to identify their contributors and disclose their spending.
