Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) announces the Allen County Land Reutilization Corporation is set to receive $500,000 in funding through the Ohio Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program.
The program was supported through the state operating budget passed last year under Cupp’s leadership in the Ohio House and will fund the demolition of commercial and residential buildings that are in need of repairs.
“In certain areas in Allen County, and also across the state, this funding will be put to good use by revitalizing the properties which will turn them into areas of development which will provide opportunities for business growth and jobs to benefit our communities,” Cupp said.
The state operating budget bill allocated a total of $150 million in grants to be dispersed. The first round of allocations includes $42.1 million and was set aside for all 88 Ohio counties that requested up to $500,000. After June 30, 2022 the remaining funds are available through grants on a first-come, first-served basis.
