COLUMBUS— State Representative Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) today announced the passage of House Bill (HB) 13, Democratic priority legislation to create the Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Program, specifically designed to bring broadband to unserved residential households.
HB 13 combines efforts by government and private enterprise with the goal of expanding broadband connectivity to unserved households across Ohio.
“This bill is a necessary step to expand access to broadband for underserved communities. With this access, some Ohioans will have the opportunity for education and employment that they did not have without,” said Hicks-Hudson.
The bill now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
