State Rep. Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) today announced two statewide scholarship opportunities available for college students pursuing careers in STEM fields and oil and natural gas industries.
The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and Foundation are accepting first-time and renewal applications for a $1,000 scholarship for students pursuing careers in natural gas and the crude oil industry. Additionally, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Division of Opportunity Diversity and Inclusion, will to award three $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing careers in STEM related fields.
“These are excellent opportunities to help reduce the rising cost of education for Ohio’s students,” said Hicks-Hudson. “I encourage everyone eligible to take advantage of this opportunity.”
Previous award recipients of the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program and Foundation scholarship studied geology, engineering, welding, business management, chemistry, and energy resources management.
