State Rep. Paula Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) today announced the release of $1,732,990.39 in state funds to repair local infrastructure, support adult habilitation services and renovate classrooms at the University of Toledo.

“The Controlling Board is a committee of the legislature that is able to efficiently provide needed funds to local projects,” said Hicks-Hudson. “The following authorization from the state budget will help our community.”

The release of state funds were approved for the following projects:

—$270,000 for construction regarding the bridge replacement project on State Route 25 in Lucas County. The project details construction of a new bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad.

—$94,390.39 for the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) to provide adult habilitation services to residents of the Northwest Ohio Developmental Center in Lucas County. The DODD contracts with multiple entities throughout the state to provide residents and their guardians the opportunity to review providers and select their preferred program.

—$1,368,600 for the University of Toledo to renovate twelve heavily utilized classrooms and associated areas in poor condition in Snyder Memorial, Stranahan Hall, and McMaster Hall, all on the Main Campus.

The funds were approved at Monday’s meeting of the state Controlling Board, a bipartisan panel that oversees state spending.
