State Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) today applauded the release of $740,000 in state funds to the Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) at Toledo’s Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT). The disbursement was approved last week by the Ohio Controlling Board, which oversees state spending.

“These funds will be a blessing for our local economy,” said Sheehy. “With so much reinvestment and revitalization, I believe the Rust Belt’s glory days are still ahead of us. It is certainly exciting to gaze on all the technological advancements in manufacturing, and beyond, developing in Northwest Ohio.”

Ohio MEP provides specialized products and services to enhance the productivity, growth and global competitiveness of Ohio manufacturers. This release of funding will help deliver MEP services to local small and medium-sized manufacturers for Toledo’s CIFT, and will provide proven expertise in manufacturing operational excellence, advanced manufacturing and engineering services throughout the state in partnership with the other regional affiliates.
