Rep. Sheehy statement on state mask mandate for Lucas County
COLUMBUS—State Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) issued a statement today following Gov. DeWine’s executive order to require facemasks in Lucas County. Lucas County falls within Level 3 of the state’s new Public Health Advisory System, which was unveiled July 2. Level 3 indicates very high exposure and spread of coronavirus.
Several cities in Ohio have already moved to require facemasks, including Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus and Dayton.
“Lucas County’s rise to Level 3 signifies that the coronavirus pandemic is far from over. I urge all residents of Lucas County to maintain social distancing, avoid large gatherings and continue wearing face masks in public whenever possible. These measures help protect ourselves, our family and friends and our neighbors,” Rep. Sheehy said.
