State Rep. Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) today announced the release of $740,000 to CIFT, Inc. of Lucas County as part of advancing the Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership (Ohio MEP).
“I am pleased to see the state continue to invest in our local economy by supporting hard working Ohioans in the manufacturing industry,” said Sheehy. “This release of funds for CIFT, Inc. will help to increase the productivity and effectiveness of our regional service partner to provide for the needs of key industry sectors and small manufacturers.”
Ohio MEP supports the states manufacturing industry by providing products and services that enhance the productivity, growth and global competitiveness of Ohio manufacturers. The program funds regional centers located throughout the state that serve as "one-stop-shops" for technical and business assistance for small and medium-sized manufacturers.
As the Northwest Ohio regional service partner, CIFT, Inc. will deliver Ohio MEP services primarily to provide specialized expertise in agricultural products and food processing throughout the state in partnership with other regional affiliates. In addition to the release of state funds, CIFT, Inc. will provide a minimum of $740,000 to match those funds and $749,546 will also be awarded in federal matching funds.
