I am humbled to serve as State Representative for the 71st House District and look forward to all we can accomplish in the coming year. As someone with both private and public sector experience, I am confident we have the necessary components to improve the 71st House District through coordination and collaboration.
I will use my experience on Newark City Council and now as State Representative to take advantage of all possible resources that will encourage economic development in the region for our growing population. I will leverage the strengths of our diverse communities and encourage our public-private partnerships to spur economic growth. We have seen great success in the district with existing partnerships; additional efforts with elected leaders, stakeholders, and communities will further strengthen our local economies.
My initial goal is to coordinate essential infrastructure to foster economic growth in Licking County and enable future opportunities for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. I aim to work with stakeholders to correct long-standing issues like transportation, water, wastewater, and road improvements for the benefit of all citizens. Modernizing and investing in the district will reduce costs, encourage development, improve services, and ensure sound infrastructure for decades to come. By partnering with stakeholders, it is possible to expedite development by leveraging existing infrastructure, best practices, and strategies already identified for economic development. With targeted and sustainable investment, it becomes possible to further improve infrastructure, services, education, and provide new and rehabilitated housing stock within the district.
In addition to preparing our community for the future, I would also like to put Licking County in a position where every person has the opportunity to prosper. I will tackle tough issues in the legislature, issues that affect all of us. I look forward to working on healthcare costs and improving healthcare transparency.
I also look forward to improving State funding of education and building a sustainable and comprehensive formula essential for district-level planning. As a member of the House Aging & Long-Term Care Committee, I am particularly interested in helping protect our senior citizens and ending the abuse of a vulnerable population. With my other committees of Ways and Means, Insurance, and Labor and Commerce, I intend to stay active in promoting the wel-lbeing of our citizens, a competitive economy, and upholding the constitutional rights as Americans we hold dear.It is a great honor to serve the people of Licking County. This district is my home, and I hope to serve you well. I have always made a point to listen to constituents and do my part to identify and resolve issues in a solution-oriented approach. Please feel free to reach out to my office anytime, and have a Happy and Blessed New Year.
