Representative John Supports Resolution Condemning Russian Invasion of Ukraine

COLUMBUS - Wednesday State Representatives Marilyn John (R-Richland County) made a yes vote on a Resolution that condemns the Russian Federations invasion of Ukraine. 

State Representatives Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) and State Representative Andrea White (R-Kettering) sponsored the Resolution.

“Ohio is home to many of Ukrainian descent and it is important that we stand with and support our fellow Ohioans and their homeland as they fight for democracy while condemning the malicious acts Putin is committing against Ukraine and its people,” said John. 

The 2019 United States Census Bureau revealed that Ohio is home to over 42,000 Ukrainian immigrants or descendants. 

Ukraine was granted its independence from the Soviet Union after the Cold War in 1991 and ever since, it has been recognized as a country, which functions with civil participation in its government.
