Today, Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) applauded the House passage of legislation that would allow more health professionals to administer the coronavirus vaccine, extend professional licenses and help low-income Ohioans pay for utilities amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

COLUMBUS— Rep. Lisa Sobecki’s (D-Toledo) bill honoring Officer Brandon Stalker, who was killed in the line of duty Jan. 18, 2021, passed out of committee today after a committee vote. House Bill (HB) 80 received unanimous support by the House Transportation and Public Safety Committee.

COLUMBUS— Reps. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) and Mike Sheehy’s (D-Oregon) bill honoring Officer Anthony Dia, who was killed in the line of duty July 4, 2020, advanced today during a committee vote. House Bill (HB) 19 received unanimous support by the House Transportation and Public Safety Committee.

Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) during session this week supported House Bill (HB) 93, legislation to modify the state’s address confidentiality program (Safe at Home), a long-held Democratic priority that allows victims of domestic violence, stalking, rape, human trafficking, or sexual battery who fear for their safety to keep their address confidential and out of the public record. 

Today, Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) announced the State Controlling Board approved several requests for funding to support some of Ohio’s most important and vulnerable populations during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

State Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) today voted in favor of House Bill (HB) 2 to expand broadband access to underserved Ohioans. HB 2 is based on a long-held Democratic priority that would create the Ohio Residential Broadband Expansion Program to bring broadband access to unserved residential households in both rural and urban areas of the state.

COLUMBUS – Today, State Reps. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) and Jeff Crossman (D-Parma) introduced House Bill (HB) 139, legislation requiring the Director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) to waive the collection of certain unemployment benefit overpayments received by Ohioans through no fault of their own.

COLUMBUS –State Reps. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) and Jeff Crossman (D-Parma) sent Gov. DeWine, State Superintendent Paolo DeMaria, and State Board of Education President Laura Kohler a letter on Thursday, February 4 urging them to waive end-of-year state testing for the 2020-21 school year. The letter was a follow up to a previous letter Crossman and Sobecki sent in June 2020 calling on the governor’s administration to be proactive and cancel state testing for the 2020-21 school year prior to the beginning of the school year, which they failed to do.

State Sen. Teresa Fedor (D-Toledo) and State Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) are pressuring Senate President Matt Huffman (R-Lima) and House Speaker Bob Cupp (R-Lima) to convene the Unemployment Compensation Improvement and Modernization Council in the near future. The council was formed following the enactment of House Bill (HB) 614 last year but has not had a single meeting.
