Today, Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) announced that her bill to bring Ohio into an Electric Vehicle Future cleared the House Transportation and Public Safety committee by a vote of 10-1. House Bill (HB) 292 establishes an Electric Vehicle Commission comprised of elected leaders and industry representatives to study the emergence of electric vehicle production and the steps Ohio needs to take to adapt to the future.
“Ohio is behind the eight ball and is falling behind our neighboring states. Ohio needs to once again lead in the automotive industry, and creating the Electric Vehicle Commission will better position us for the future,” said Rep. Sobecki.
HB 292 is a bipartisan bill and now awaits a vote on the House Floor.
