Rep. Sobecki announces Arts Council has awarded more than $873,000 in grants to support the arts in Lucas County

COLUMBUS – Today, State Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) announced the Ohio Arts Council has awarded more than $873,000 in grants to support the arts in Lucas County.

“Lucas County has a thriving arts community that creates a wonderful environment for individuals to express their creativity,” said Rep. Sobecki. “I am pleased with these new funding opportunities as these grant dollars will allow us to continue investing in our community’s incredibly unique artistic atmosphere.” 

Recipients of the grants in Lucas County:

·         Scrap4Art - $3,222

·         West Side Montessori - Perrysburg Campus - $9,000

·         Sylvania Community Arts Commission - $7,848

·         The Olander Park System - $3,230

·         Arts Commission of Greater Toledo, Inc. - $74,296

·         Beverly Elementary/Toledo Public Schools - $2,400

·         Children’s Theatre Workshop of Toledo - $28,218

·         Elaina Hernandez - $3,743

·         Friends of Ottawa Jermain Park - $2,173

·         Glacity Theatre Collective, Inc. - $2,322

·         Hawkins STEMM Academy/Toledo Public Schools - $31,500

·         Masterworks Chorale - $4,500

·         Rosary Cathedral (R.C.) - $3,276

·         Toledo Alliance for the Performing Arts - $166,124
