Rep. Sobecki announces $5.4 Million in new capital funds for Lucas County
COLUMBUS – State Representative Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) announced the passage of the capital budget, HB 687, by the Ohio House of Representatives yesterday. The capital budget appropriates resources to state owned infrastructure, colleges, universities, and school districts as well as other community projects. The capital budget is typically passed every 2 years with this year’s budget appropriating over $3.5 billion to counties across Ohio with $191 million being allocated to community projects.
“State investments will spur economic development in Lucas County, while the community projects approved will support working families throughout Northwest Ohio as well as our vulnerable populations,” said Rep. Sobecki. “While the amount of money awarded to Lucas County was substantial, our communities could have benefitted more from a higher award. I will continue to stay committed to partnering with my colleagues to bring more dollars back to Lucas County.”
