COLUMBUS— State Representative Kristin Boggs (D-Columbus) Monday announced the state Controlling Board approval of a $25 million direct loan to assist in financing the $42.25 million Columbus Crew soccer stadium concrete project. The funding will also create 28 new full-time jobs and retain 155 existing full-time jobs at the project site.
“The Columbus community can always be counted on to support the Crew, and we are all eagerly awaiting the opening of the new stadium," said Rep. Boggs. “This loan not only reflects how valuable the Crew is to Columbus, it also helps get people back to work during these difficult times by creating and maintaining jobs in Columbus."
The loan will have a three percent interest rate and a term of 25 years. Construction is planned to be completed by summer 2021, and the stadium will be located at 550 West Nationwide Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Further details about the loan can be found on the Controlling Board’s agenda.
