COLUMBUS—State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) gave sponsor testimony Tuesday during House Transportation and Public Safety Committee on House Bill (H.B.) 33, legislation to designate the Officer Kaia L. Grant Memorial Highway.

“While nothing can ever fill the hole Officer Grant left behind, this dedication will serve as an honor to her memory,” said Rep. Miranda in her testimony.  “This legislation will make portions of I-275 that run through Forest Park and Springdale a permanent reminder of the incredible loss these two communities have experienced. My heart is with the Grant family and the men and women of the Springdale Police Department.”

Springdale Police Chief Thomas Wells also testified in favor of H.B. 33 Tuesday. The legislation unanimously passed out of the Transportation Committee following testimony by Rep. Miranda and Chief Wells.
