Powell, Pro-life Caucus Sends Letter to Investigate Baby Found in Dumpster

August 20, 2021
Jena Powell News

COLUMBUS – State Representative Jena Powell (R-Arcanum), founder of the Ohio House Pro-life Caucus, today released the following letter sent to Governor Mike DeWine, Director of the Ohio Health Department, Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff, and Attorney General Dave Yost, regarding a request for an investigation:

Dear Governor DeWine, Director Vanderhoff, and Attorney General Yost,

We must bring a horrific tragedy to your attention: in June, a 4-month old baby was thrown into a dumpster in Cuyahoga Falls, discarded like trash.

This appalling event is unacceptable, inhumane, and despicable. It also blatantly violates Section 3726.02 of the Ohio Revised Code, which requires aborted fetal remains to be cremated or interred. We request your departments look into this gross injustice.

The abortion facility in question, the Northeast Ohio Women’s Center, has displayed a troubling pattern of wrongdoing. The facility has allegedly operated without a license since March 31, 2019, and has also violated HIPAA laws through the improper handling and disposal of medical records.

We request an immediate investigation. The Governor’s Office, the Ohio Department of Health, the Attorney General’s Office, and law enforcement must exhaust all available resources to ensure the perpetrators are held responsible.

An innocent child, created in the image of God, was aborted, dismembered and illegally discarded. We ask you to join us in taking a stand to protect the human dignity of every life in our state.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned Members of the Ohio House Pro-Life Caucus
