COLUMBUS – State Rep. Jeff Crossman (D-Parma) commented on the recent House passage of the Capital Budget, House Bill (HB) 687, which includes $90,000 in funding to the City of Parma for its recreation department.
“This is an excellent result for Parma and I was happy to advocate for these needed funds. As a former City Council member I know that Mayor DeGeeter and City Council members are working hard to deliver results for the community, including redeveloping our park system.” said Rep. Crossman. “It’s been great partnering with state and local officials to get these funds back for Parma.”
The funding will go towards the city’s Park and Playground Revitalization Project, and will improve three separate city-owned parks, including 0btaining new playground equipment.
“I’m grateful to Senator Antonio and Representative Crossman for their great work on behalf of the city of Parma to secure much-needed funding for this project. These funds will continue to improve the lives of our families and children and we look forward to see this and future projects do exactly that,” said Parma Mayor Tim DeGeeter.
“I am happy to have advocated for these important projects that mean so much to our communities in Senate District 23,” said Senator Antonio. “These state dollars will go a long way towards increasing the access and quality of outdoor recreational activities to ensure they can be enjoyed by all residents.”
