State Representative Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) applauded the recent announcement by EF Hutton America to relocate the company’s corporate offices to downtown Springfield. The move is anticipated to contribute at least 400 jobs in the next five years to the area, spurring nearly $22 million in investments.

The deal is contingent upon the company being approved for state and local incentives, a task Koehler says he is eager to assist with to ensure the relocation is able to occur.

“The EF Hutton relocation is a major win for our community and will hopefully attract more businesses to Springfield,” said Koehler. “It seems like Clark County had a cancer diagnosis; with the recent opening and renewal of many businesses and EF Hutton now joining our community, I believe we’ve been cleared of that cancer and our economy can grow new life again.”

Earlier this year, Koehler was able to help secure $1.5 million in state funding to build a parking garage in the downtown area, a vital step toward workforce development and attracting new companies such as EF Hutton.

“Helping Springfield to get the necessary funding for the parking garage was a major step toward attracting business investment, and I look forward to continuing to fight to return taxpayer dollars to Clark County instead of sending them to Columbus,” Koehler said.

Company officials say EF Hutton plans to acquire the office building located at 1 S. Limestone St. and rename it the EF Hutton Tower.
