COLUMBUS – State Representative Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) today accepted the Guardian of Small Business Award presented by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB). This award is reserved for legislators who consistently vote with small businesses on key issues identified by small business owners.
“I’m honored to be among those recognized by NFIB for this award,” said Koehler. “Now, more than ever, small businesses need strong legislators in their corner. I’m proud to advocate for our small businesses and for our state’s economy. I will continue to fight for small businesses and for smart, pro-business legislation in Ohio.”
Recipients of the Guardian of Small Business Award are those who voted with small businesses on key issues 70 percent or more of the time. Past recipients include Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted, Ohio Speaker of the House Bob Cupp, Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman, former Ohio Speaker of the House Vern Riffe and former Congressman Steve Stivers.
Koehler accepted this year’s award alongside State Senator Kristina Roegner (R-Hudson). The ceremony was held in the Statehouse Atrium on Wednesday, September 15.
