COLUMBUS – State Representative Kyle Koehler (R-Springfield) today congratulated the Springfield Small Business Development Center for being recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as the Great Lakes region’s SBDC of the year.
“Congratulations to the Springfield Small Business Development Center on being recognized as the Great Lakes Region’s SBDC of the Year,” said Koehler. “Through free business coaching, training events and small business loans, the Springfield SBDC has gone above and beyond to support Clark County’s entrepreneurs. This well-deserved award emphasizes Springfield SBDC’s commitment to helping Springfield’s businesses grow and prosper.”
The Springfield SBDC has supported many businesses develop into the success they are today and many local businesses are relying on them for support during the pandemic. According to Rob Alexander, executive director of Springfield’s SBDC, in the last year, their clients generated 133 new jobs and had 19 new businesses open.
“During the difficult times that COVID-19 has put on businesses throughout Ohio, I am proud to see local businesses, the city of Springfield and the Greater Springfield Chamber working together to make our downtown the place to be. I am truly proud to bring people from all over Ohio to see what is happening in downtown Springfield," concluded Koehler.
This honor comes to the Springfield SBDC during National Small Business Week.
