State Rep. Gail Pavliga (R-Portage County) announces the Ohio State Controlling Board recently approved measures for local Portage County funding for Kent State University projects. Pavliga applauded the initiative.

“As a college professor, I truly understand that Kent State University is one of the best higher education institutions in our state and I am very pleased to see these projects moving forward with these funding allocations,” said Dr. Pavliga.

The following KSU project funds were approved by the Board at the July 12 meeting:

  • $66,484 for a maintenance replacement project in Portage County for KSU.
  • $8,750 for professional services for a repair project in Kent, Portage County.

Both measures were requests put in by KSU for the updates and repairs of certain buildings on the Kent campus.

The next State Controlling Board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 2.
